Toto is a six-year-old boy from Crochu, Haiti, a community with no water or sanitation facilities. Rather than attending school, Toto's "job" is to collect water for his family. He walks just over a kilometer to a spring, the same spring used for bathing, washing clothes and watering livestock, where he fills two one-gallon containers with water. The containers he uses are old, dirty motor oil jugs. He then walks back to his home with the water. Toto typically makes this journey five times each day, and he does it with no shoes over a rocky, muddy trail. This is the story of millions of children around the world. In fact, every 15 seconds, a child like Toto dies of a water-related illness. However, there is hope. Water Missions International (WMI) is a conduit for that hope.
